Get a legal heir certificate in Tamil Nadu

A legal heir certificate lists the heirs of a person who has died. Banks and offices ask for it to transfer accounts and property.

Keep these ready

• Death certificate
• ID and address proof of each heir

Steps

1. Apply on TN e-Sevai or at an e-Sevai centre, with the death certificate and details of each heir.
2. The Village Administrative Officer and Revenue Inspector check the details.
3. The Tahsildar issues the certificate.
4. Download it from e-Sevai when it is ready. A relative in Tamil Nadu can attend any enquiry for you.
