Transfer ownership of a vehicle you sold

When you sell a vehicle, the ownership must be changed in the RTO record. Until then, fines and liability stay with you.

Keep these ready

Steps

  1. Sign the transfer forms (Form 29 and Form 30) with the buyer.
  2. Apply for the transfer on the Parivahan (Vahan) portal.
  3. Pay the fee online.
  4. The buyer or your representative completes any visit the RTO asks for. Keep a copy of the new registration in the buyer's name.
